Running one truck or twenty, the costly position is the wrong place. Fleet Positioning is the manager side of FreightIntel: vehicles, drivers and where they last reported.
How it works
- Roles. When you register you choose driver or transport manager. The role is held on the server and checked on every request.
- Vehicles and fleets. Vehicles can be assigned to drivers and grouped into fleets, and a user sees only the vehicles and journeys they are entitled to.
- Driver-shared positions. A driver can share a position for their assigned vehicle. The app never tracks in the background. A position is only sent when the driver taps to share it, and positions older than 24 hours are not shown.
- Vehicle profile. Drivers can note height, length, width, weight and availability for their vehicle. It is stored on the device.
What is still preview-only
The transport manager dashboard in the app is a preview today. It shows a “no fleet connected” state until manager sign-in and fleet permissions are switched on for your account. We would rather show an honest empty state than a fake fleet.
What it does not do
- It does not recommend where to send vehicles. There is no demand forecast behind this feature today.
- It does not track drivers continuously, and it does not hold a history of movements beyond what the driver shared.
- It does not share a driver’s position with anyone outside the operator and fleet they belong to. See the Privacy Notice.
Data honesty
If there is no recent position, you see no position, not an estimate. See the data sources page for the public data used elsewhere in the app.
