Every empty mile home is a mile you paid for twice: once in fuel and once in the job that had to cover it. Backhaul is where FreightIntel wants to help most, and it is the feature furthest from finished. This page says where it stands.
What you can use today
- Jobs search. Search HGV and transport manager vacancies by category from inside the app, useful when a return leg turns into a longer move.
- Parking and rest stops near your destination. HGV parking sites can be listed near any point, nearest first, with the distance from the point you chose.
- Fuel stations. The Fuel Finder register lets you look at forecourts and the prices they report on the way home.
- Roadworks on the way back. Search stored road events across a journey window of up to 31 days.
What it is meant to become
The aim is to weigh the round trip, not just the outbound fare: where inferred demand is building near your destination, what the route home looks like, and which corridors give a better chance of work back. That is the Opportunity Engine applied to the return leg.
What it does not do yet
- It does not match you to a return load. FreightIntel is not a load board and has no list of loads to match against.
- It does not estimate how likely you are to find work on the way home.
- It does not price a round trip for you.
We would rather tell you that than imply it. As the evidence behind each of those steps becomes solid, this page will change.
