Last updated: 3 October 2026

FreightIntel is built on public and open data. We thank the organisations below. Each source stays under its own licence and terms. Where a licence requires an attribution statement, it is given here.

Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL)

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. This covers:

  • Street Manager roadworks permits and activities, from the Department for Transport (DfT). © Crown copyright.
  • Road traffic statistics (annual average daily flow), DfT. © Crown copyright.
  • WebTRIS traffic counts and National Highways road closures and events (DATEX II feed). © National Highways.
  • Port freight statistics (PORT0101), DfT. © Crown copyright.
  • Weekly road fuel prices, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). © Crown copyright.
  • Fuel Finder station prices, DfT. © Crown copyright.
  • UK Trade Info trade statistics, HM Revenue and Customs. © Crown copyright.
  • Contracts Finder and Find a Tender notices (Open Contracting Data).
  • Planning Data, from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (now MHCLG).

OpenStreetMap (ODbL)

HGV and lorry parking locations are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) 1.0. Our derived parking dataset is also available under the ODbL; to ask for a copy, email us.

Traffic Wales

Road incident and roadworks information for Wales comes from the Traffic Wales feed, provided by Welsh Government and the Welsh trunk road agents. Shown with attribution as required by the feed.

AIS vessel positions

Vessel positions come from AISStream, which aggregates Automatic Identification System (AIS) broadcasts from ships. AIS data is supplied for information and is not suitable for navigation. We apply AISStream's terms of use, and you may not use our AIS-derived data in breach of them.

Postcodes

Postcode lookups use Postcodes.io. Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right, and ONS data © Crown copyright, under the Open Government Licence.

Theft hotspot register

The register is compiled by us from named police and news reports, each cited. Sources include BBC News, LincsOnline, Coventry Live, Kent Online and West Mercia Police. We link or name the source; we do not reproduce the reports. It records where thefts were reported and when. It does not rate any place as safe or unsafe.

Corrections and takedown

If you own data we use and think the attribution is wrong or missing, or you want something changed, email info@freightintel.co.uk and we will fix it quickly.
