Drivers swap information all day by phone and CB. Driver Chat gives the same conversation a home in FreightIntel, for use when you are safely stopped.
What you get
- Rooms. A public lobby for signed-in users, a chat for each fleet you belong to, and direct chats with another user by handle.
- Handles, not emails. You pick a handle of 3 to 24 letters, numbers, underscores or hyphens. Other users see the handle and never your email address.
- Saved messages. Messages up to 2,000 characters are stored, so a conversation is still there when you come back. Unread counts show what you missed.
- Voice and video. Direct and fleet chats can start a call between two devices. Calls use WebRTC and connect the devices directly where the network allows. If it cannot connect, messaging still works.
Staying in control
- Report any message from another user, with a reason. A report keeps a copy of the message so it can be reviewed.
- Block a user to hide their messages from you and stop direct messages and calls from them in both directions. You can unblock later.
- Message sending is rate limited to prevent flooding.
What to know
- Use chat only when parked. Please do not share passwords, email codes or private load details in the lobby.
- Chat is not an emergency channel. Call 999.
- Messages are stored on FreightIntel’s servers. See the Privacy Notice for how long and why, and the Terms for acceptable use.
