Terms of Use

  • Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These terms apply to freightintel.co.uk and the FreightIntel app (the "service"), run by FreightIntel, 7 High Street, Basildon, Essex SS14 1AB, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. What the service is

FreightIntel brings together public data and user-supplied information for the UK road freight industry: roadworks and road events, traffic, fuel prices, port statistics, HGV parking, and driver chat. It is an information tool. It is not a navigation system, a legal compliance tool or a safety system.

2. Information and accuracy

  • Data comes from third parties (see Data sources and attributions) and may be late, incomplete or wrong. We show when data was last updated where we can, and we show nothing rather than invent a value.
  • Parking and theft-hotspot information is indicative. It shows where reports or listed sites exist. It does not mean a place is safe or unsafe.
  • You must check road signs, legal restrictions (including height, weight, driver hours and tachograph rules) and your own judgement before you act. Do not use the app while driving.

3. Accounts

  • You need to be 18 or over to register. Give a real email address you control and keep your sign-in codes private.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. You can close yours any time by emailing us.

4. Acceptable use

Do not: harass, threaten or abuse other users; post unlawful, hateful, misleading or private content about others; spam; attempt to break into or overload the service; scrape it at a rate that harms it; or use it to track a person without their knowledge. Chat messages are your responsibility. We may remove content and report unlawful activity to the authorities. Use Report or Block next to any message in the app, or email us.

5. Position sharing

The app shares your position only when you choose to share it. By doing so you tell us that you are entitled to share it. Operators and fleet managers who see positions must have a lawful reason and must tell their drivers.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to store, display and deliver it to the people you send it to, so the service works. Emergencies are not a use for chat: call 999.

7. Our content and third-party data

We own or license the site design, text and software. Third-party data stays under its own licence, set out on the data sources page. You may not copy our site wholesale or resell our compiled data without our written agreement.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or error free. We may change or withdraw features. Planned and unplanned outages can happen.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for loss from relying on third-party data, for delays, missed deliveries, fines, theft, or lost profit, or for any indirect loss. If you are a business user, our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to £100. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms. For material changes we will tell registered users.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may use their local courts). Questions: info@freightintel.co.uk.
